Snowy Engagement Session in the Hudson Valley
Shanna told me right away that she had no trouble shooting during the colder, darker months. She really wanted there to be snow during her engagement shoot with her fiance Brian. That made me happy because even though I’m not a huge fan of the cold, I really wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something new!
Since they are getting married at Lake Taghkanic State Park in Ancram NY, they wanted to incorporate some beautiful scenery into their engagement session. They decided they wanted to shoot at the Dover Stone Church. They have been there in the warmer months, and absolutely loved it there.
On the day of their session, we weren’t only blessed with snow, but a BLIZZARD! We walked around (we kinda had to keep moving to stay warm) , exploring fun places for photo ops and doing our best not to slip on any wet rocks near the waterfall. I unfortunately am not very graceful, and ended up losing my phone in the water, never to be seen again (shout out to my boyfriend Alex for looking through the water for what seemed like forever trying to find it. You’re the best).
Despite losing my phone, I have to say, it was absolutely worth it! These two have such a beautifully natural chemistry that it made their session so easy, despite being in 20 degree weather! They just flow together and when they laugh, it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I had so much fun getting to know them! Their May wedding is going to be so beautiful! I can’t wait!
