Cassi + Elliott // Halloween Wedding

Cassi and Elliott adore Halloween, so they thought, why not combine the freaky festive holiday with their wedding day?

Even if this wasn't a Halloween themed wedding, there were so many different details from a traditional wedding. As a photographer, I love anything unique, quirky, original or new. So on this day, I was in my element with a chocolate-brown dog of honor next to the beautiful bride who held a cascading bouquet made from succulents and greenery - no flowers in sight. That bouquet was so AMAZING. Mini photo charms of special family members were tied onto the bouquet to make it even more perfect.

Cassi's dress was a gorgeous strapless gown adorned with soft appliqué leaves. With her dramatic red hair, tattoos and stunning make-up, her bridal look was bold, beautiful, and whimsical. Mention has to go to Cassi's black and orange manicure. Elliot wore a smart suit with a pink velvet bow tie, personalized gold cufflinks and buttonhole crafted from succulents.

We had some time for portraits of Elliott and his bridal party boys, which turned out very cool and edgy. Then it was time for the couple's first look in the garden. The feeling between them was soft, romantic and intimate - everything a first look should be. The leaves were falling from the trees literally as I photographed the couple dancing on the country road. The family joined in for portraits and of course, our fur friend dog of honor Sydney was there too.

Who needs flowers when you can have pumpkins and golden leaves lining the aisle? The bridal party rocked velvet dresses, then the bride walked arm in arm with her mom down the aisle, then joined the groom and celebrant under a wooden tree alter. A beautiful autumn scene was the perfect backdrop and Cassi and Elliott exchanged rings and vows during a very emotional ceremony. They were announced man and wife and kissed and everyone cheered. The dog barked. It was a wonderful moment and the celebrations instantly began with The Office theme song playing in the background as everyone walked to the reception area.

Hudson Valley Weddings at The Hill was such a perfect location for these two to get married. A converted barn with wooden beams and rustic flooring was the perfect setting for the reception. A touch of glam was added with a rich vintage rug and lighting, including feature chandeliers.

Look at the exquisite dinnerware setting. The plates are gorgeous and the cutlery was just too beautiful. Dinner table centerpieces were lanterns and pumpkins amongst greenery on burlap with wooden table numbers. Mini skeletons with a Till Death Do Us Part signage on the bridal party gave a cheeky nod to the Halloween theme. Of course, there were bowls of candy for trick or treating. Rustic barn meets glamor plus Halloween isn't easy to pull off in terms of decor, but this couple styled the venue to absolute perfection.

Once everyone filed into the rustic barn, it was time for the first dances. After the couple had the most adorable moments together, it was time for the father daughter dance. Now usually a slow song is typically picked for first dances, however in this case, Cassi and her dad chose to rock out to a Led Zeppelin song. Oh but it wasn’t over yet! About half-way through the song, Cassi decides to grab her mom watching from the sideline, and then they all jammed out together. Truly one of the BEST first dances I’ve witnessed. This was then followed up by the sweetest dance with Elliott and his mom. Now that the tears have flowed, it was time to eat! Once everyone’s bellies were full, Cassi and Elliott cut their triple-tied naked wedding cake at the end of the night, and then celebrated some more.

There were cocktails, speeches, celebrations and lots of laughter all night long. There will never be another Halloween wedding quite like this one. The couple put their stamp on their best day ever perfectly and all the guests will be talking about this wedding for years to come.
